Meet Dr. Saro Kasparian: triple boarded medical oncologist, hematologist, and internist. He earned his medical degree at the American University of the Caribbean School of Medicine in St. Maarten, and Nassau University Medical Center in New York. He completed his internal medicine residency at Houston Methodist Hospital in Texas, and his hematology-oncology fellowship at the City of Hope Comprehensive Cancer Center in California, where he served as Chief Fellow.
Dr. Kasparian has been involved in numerous research projects throughout his training and presented his work at national and international levels, including ASCO. He has contributed to several first-author publications including various fields of cancer care such as prostate cancer, breast cancer, and blood cancers. As a large advocate of research, Dr. Kasparian is open and honest about clinical trials and tries to utilize them whenever appropriate. He has been commended numerous times for his skills in interacting with patients at both City of Hope and Houston Methodist Hospital.
He adapts his style to providing patient care with compassion and empathy, breaking down treatment plans, and guiding patients every step of the way. When he is not practicing medicine, Dr. Kasparian enjoys spending his time with his wife, family, and their one and only Dalmatian named Obi. He makes time for traveling and trying new restaurants and experiences. Some of his favorite hobbies include television and movies, anime, miniature modeling, video games, and food blogging with his wife with fierce but fun commentary.
