Physician Assistant
Karen Dawson has been in the healthcare field for almost 20 years. She received her undergraduate degree B.S. Dietetics at UC, Davis, and worked as a Registered Dietician at Cedars Sinai Medical Center and UC Irvine Hospital for several years before becoming a Physician Assistant.
She completed her Physician Assistant studies at Stanford University School of Medicine, Foothill College in 2008. Karen has worked in internal medicine prior to joining Pacific Cancer Medical Center Hematology/Oncology in 2012. She has a broad knowledge of internal medicine, health and nutrition.
When Karen is not working, she enjoys spending time with her husband and two children. She loves the outdoors and spending time on the beach, in the park and going on hikes. In the winter, Karen and her family like to go snowboarding. Her other interests include boxing classes, reading and food.
Karen admits to a lifelong passion for professional and personal development. She is fluent in Tagalog and is a member of the California Associate of Physician Assistants (CAPA). She is a valuable and knowledgeable member of our team, regarded just as much for her friendliness, confidence and compassion.
