Thomas Reynolds, MD, FACP

Hospice, Palliative Medicine, Hematology & Medical Oncology

Thomas F Reynolds, MD, FACP received his medical degree from The Ohio State University in Columbus, OH. He completed his internship and residency at Carney Hospital in Boston, MA, a teaching hospital of Boston University and Tufts University. He completed his fellowship at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center in New York City. He was an Assistant Professor of Medicine at Boston University and Albany Medical College. In addition to Hematology and Medical Oncology, Dr. Reynolds is Board certified in Hospice and Palliative Medicine. He also has a Master’s degree in Physical Chemistry from Northwestern University in Chicago, IL.

Dr. Reynolds is scientific and outgoing and combines both in his practice of Hematology/Medical Oncology. He believes it is the most dynamic medical specialty. His role is to both talk and listen, to translate, educate and implement his knowledge for people when they need it most.

He joined LA Cancer Network because of its commitment to providing the best care based upon close collaboration between physicians, experienced and knowledgeable advanced care practitioners and chemotherapy nurses, a committed and highly trained staff, and an in-house research program providing the most up-to-date treatment protocols.

Dr. Reynolds doesn’t care for “patients”; he cares for people and their families. His goal is open and personal communication with the patient and ensuring full participation of involved family. He takes the time needed to know that whatever the outcome, the patient and family feel confident that they have done the very best they could.

His message is “The time and place of our release from this life is unknown. I don’t know the future so I cannot tell you ‘How much time do I have.’ I can only fully share and help implement all plans and goals with you and your family. All of us will die and I believe we can go to a place where ‘Everything Was Beautiful & Nothing Hurt.’ I feel blessed that my specialty allows me to accompany you and your family on that journey.”

In his free time, Dr. Reynolds enjoys brisk walking with his standard poodle Bravo, cooking, reading – usually thrillers or science fiction – and going out to a nice restaurant in DTLA or Pasadena with friends and family.
